Vendor Room Tips

Vendors sometimes close and cover early for dinner around 5 or 6, and on Saturday dealers gradually begin to break down around 3 or 4 pm, depending on how far they have to drive to get home before midnight. Every year we have a couple people who decide to show up at the last hour, expecting vendors to be open for business. If you want access to the widest variety of merchandise, we recommend you attend early in the day.

Most vendors accept checks and credit cards, but you must expect a number of them to accept cash only, so remember to visit an ATM before visiting the hotel.

The ATM in the hotel has been known to run dry during the weekend.

There are vendors on both floors of the hotel. Be sure to visit them all.

Don’t be afraid to ask vendors questions. We all learn something new every day and it’s always cool to know something you don’t.

Don’t turn down what you think is a good deal. When you return to the table you might find that item sold.

Many vendors do mail orders so remember to collect a name and address and contact information.

Some people buy Christmas gifts early. (I myself bought t-shirts with comic book heroes for my little nephews.) Don’t be afraid to spend more than you expected if you are saving yourself time and money later during the Christmas holiday.
