Dinner Banquet
One of the highlights of the convention is the buffet dinner banquet. So popular is the dinner that every year we are forced to turn people down for tickets. Equal parts culinary magic, attentive service and artful presentation, the Hunt Valley Marriott makes history and memories for everyone who attends the banquet. The ingredients include an old-time radio re-creation on stage (direction handled by Don and Mary Ramlow), a stage performance by a magician or celebrity impersonator, and an awards ceremony. Everyone who has attended the banquet has been surprised and delighted has returned year after year.
In the past, entertainment has included Abbott and Costello impersonators (their timing was perfect for “Who’s On First?”), stage magicians, comedians and escape artists (mimicking Houdini’s straight-jacket routine). Re-creations of “lost” old-time radio broadcasts have included The Green Hornet, Escape, The Shadow, The Adventures of Sam Spade and The Lone Ranger.
IMPORTANT!
Admission to the dinner banquet is $50 per person. In the past, we accepted payment in advance and at the door, but because sales at the door have exceeded expectations, we are usually stuck sending people away. With all the traffic complications, as of this year we are forced to limit the number of tickets to 180 people. Sold on a first come, first serve basis. More importantly, as we expect all 180 tickets to sell out before the show, chances are there will be no dinner banquet tickets available for sale at the door. You can pre-pay for your dinner tickets on-line through our web-site, using Paypal or a major credit card. If you prefer to call us with your credit card information, ask for Martin at 443-286-6821. Even if you paid for dinner banquet tickets at past years at the front desk, you must pay for them in advance. The computer will keep track of each ticket sold, and the name of each party on each ticket, and the sale of tickets will stop when we reach 180.
