Any chance of trying to have Yvonne Craig of Elvis movie/Batman fame, or Lee Meriwether back again this August? Julie Newmar is another one that would be good.

I had the good fortune of meeting Davy Jones twice in the fall of 2011, first at the Midatlantic Nostalgia Convention and later at the Garden State Comic Con. On both occasions Davy was super friendly, interacting graciously and engagingly with fans. His wonderful sense of humour was always on display and he charmingly poked fun at his status of aged teen idol. "Great pic," he commented as he autographed the picture I had taken of us at the first con when I saw him at the Garden State Comic Con. The crowd turn out at that event was rather dismal however for the few of us gathered in the room where he gave his talk and sang five numbers, the mood was electric. It was obvious that he was putting as much into his performance as he did for a huge crowd. On the second day of the con I remember him giving his parting talk with packed bag beside him as he had to leave immediately afterwards to catch his travel connection. He's made that final connection and has left so many fans sad by his departure but embracing fondly the memories of music and laughs left behind.

We have, but sports figures are charging an arm and a leg to attend. It's a great idea and we have been working on it.

I enjoyed this article taken from Martin Gram's book on The Shadow. It provides the interesting and complex evolution of bringing the serial version to the screen; by pointing out the many players involved: Columbia Pictures, Street and Smith Publications and pulp writer Walter Gibson
to name a few.

Bruce Dettman is a genuine aficionado of classic cinema and television, and I always enjoy reading his articles and reviews.
